Before joining Dunamu & Partners, Dan worked at TMON as a C-level staff, helping new business development and corporate strategy initiatives including fundraising efforts and assisting BOD agenda. He had moved to Tokyo at the age of 15, and went on to receive B.A. from Waseda University in Political Science in 2016.

Corporate Finance / Investor Relations • Supported equity/debt fundraising via handling financial model, information memorandum, and due diligence requests for investors. Assisted closing $115mm equity fundraising from institutional investors via handling commercial due diligence requests. Helped structuring a $100mm deal accompanying a spin-off of a major business unit. Closely coordinated with sell-side advisors, including creating five-year business projection, use-of-proceeds plan, and industry landscape material. Created and managed yearly business planning for tracking operational KPIs, monitoring P&L, and projecting corporate working capital & cash balance.
Big Data Analytics • Managed various operations turnaround projects and inorganic growth initiatives, reporting directly to CEO, CSO, and senior executives. Conducted big data analyses using SQL on Hadoop Hive databases to monitor and gather insight for customer growth. Managed various due diligence and pilot projects of outsourcing IT solutions for user experience innovation and machine-learning-based customer analytics. Assisted monthly board meetings for C-suite and controlling investors with reporting decks and back-up materials.
New Business Development • Structured, developed, and incubated a new global shopping business with key leadership in operations, logistics and tech. Drafted financial model for operations and reviewed three-year forecast with down, base, and upside scenarios. Assisted due diligence and strategic investment process of $1mm into an U.S. startup company for faster inorganic market entry. Structured overall fulfillment process, negotiating with 3pl logistics providers and customs tax accounting agencies. Managed tech roadmap and deliverables, coordinating with product managers, UI/UX designers, and programmers.
